just recently this Aymara community decided to organize their families and community to accept visitors in their lands, talking with them they comment that they can see every day many boats passing their pesinsula, and this why some people´s curiosity began, and they start to improve their houses expecting to have visitors in their lands
Luquina Chico The peninsula of Chucuito at Lake Titicaca, is located on the southern of Puno city 67km (1 hour and 40 minutes’ drive). This community has over 1,200 inhabitants spread out the peninsula and they belong to the ethnic group of Aymaras
It takes 1:30 minutes on boat ride from Puno to Luquina. The main economic activities on this community are farming, livestock and fishing.
