SCHEDULE DESCRIPTIONS
You will enjoy of an unforgettable journey on the surrounding and shores of Lake Titicaca, landscapes, traditions, culture and peace.
After breakfast we take a private car to get the northern part of Lake Titicaca after 1:30 hours driving passing Capachica will arrive to the pier in Ccotos (small village on the shores of the lake) we´ll take a small boat 20 minutes to reach Ticona, one small island where threre is no more than 10 families living in, after settle you in, we are free to walk from edge to edge in this island, or just to take a ride a rowing boat next to the shores, all the meals will be prepared by the local host, and spend the night in a family house (basic) at night probably we´ll be lucky to see all the milky way without of the city lights.
On the second day after breakfast will have a small boat 1 hour, to visit Llanchon we´ll hike to the top of this pesinsula (Apu Karus) a perfect location to observe the big lake and the Bolivian snowy mountains, back for lunch and take a boat to Puno
LLACHON PENINSULA OF CAPACHICA
The peninsula of Capachica at Lake Titicaca, is located on the northern of Puno city 75 km (1 hour and 30 minutes drive). This community has over 1,500 inhabitants spread out the peninsula and they belong to the ethnic group of Quechuas.
It takes 1:45 minutes on boat ride from Puno to Llachon and the return by bus is a good example to appreciate the highlands (altiplano).. The major economic activities on this community are farming, livestock and fishing. Just during the last 10 years these people realized that tourism can help to improve their way of living.
TICONATA ISLAND
Small island knew as the lizard island, it is place according to the local shamans people can renew their feeling and change ways of living, the island is almost 2 kilometers long and 500 meters wide it is a place use by the local quechuas families for cattle according the season of the year
